When I met Carolyn and James for the first time, they shared their vision for a modern, minimal wedding at Warehouse XI in Somerville, MA. They showed me inspiration photos of a beautiful white, black, and green wedding, but after getting to know them a bit better I quickly learned that Carolyn is drawn to the color yellow (check out her shoes!), so I instantly knew that we had to find a way to blend their minimalist vision with a bit of color!
To achieve a modern look, we kept details minimal and incorporated bud vases of the most beautiful butter and rose toned blooms from Bloom 52, as well as some really standout decor pieces like their ceremony installation and donut wall.
Dinner was catered by Bronwyn, a German restaurant in Somerville. Inspired by the German tradition of community dining, guests sat at long tables with no seating chart in order to encourage them to gather together, meet one another, and enjoy a meal all together.
The thing I loved most about Carolyn and James was how laid back and “go-with-the-flow” they were throughout planning and their entire wedding day. They even took a quick break together to walk on over to Gracie’s ice cream. I always encourage my couples to steal a moment away on their wedding day, and if you can do it with ice cream, all the better!
It was such a joy to be a part of this day. Carolyn and James are truly the epitome of a couple that loves, respects, and supports each other, and I couldn’t be happier for them.
Cheers to Carolyn + James!
