If you know me, you know that I love any reason to celebrate. And I mean any reason. My heart is all the more full when a sweet client asks me to plan a celebration with such a special meaning: in this case, a celebration of gratitude.

When Julie unexpectedly suffered a medical setback a couple of years ago, it turned her life upside down. I first met her when she asked me to plan a Harry Potter inspired baby shower for her dear friend, and it immediately became clear to me how much love and appreciation Julie has for all of the most important people in her life. So it was no surprise when she next approached me with the idea for what we dubbed a Celebration of Gratitude: the perfect opportunity to bring together the people who had helped her through one of the most challenging times in her life, and to thank them for their love and support. 

We worked with Heritage of Sherborn, the perfect setting for our celebration. Julie had spent some time in different parts of England, and specifically mentioned a favorite, quaint little town which inspired the foundation for our design. Also a lover of color, we set the tone for a charming, garden-inspired day with pops of fun tones and thoughtful details. Knowing that many of her guests were big fans of games, we even set out decks of cards at each table so that they could play while enjoying the most delicious brunch!

Molly Grace Makes created the sweetest hand-calligraphed place cards which we tied to individual bud vases for each guest to take home as a favor. Katie of Bloom 52 knocked the floral centerpieces out of the park (as always), and the entire day felt so special.

Cue the waterworks – I mean, I’m already a crier, but to be a part of such a special day was  so meaningful to me and filled me with so much emotion. Julie is such a special person and I feel so grateful to have been a part of this day!
